MARKET SCENARIO

Tony, Rony and Sony are the three college friends. They graduated from the college and then planned for setting up their own business, as there is no job in the market, due to recession period.

Tony opened a “grocery cum stationary shop” in a cosmopolitan area, where all the young IT personnel live in flats or PG. Rony opened a “Pan-Cigarettes shop” in front of the Cinema Hall. Sony opened a “Bar cum Restaurant” near a reputed college.

Local people were very happy to find the grocery shop, in their locality. It helped them a lot. As Tony has no other competitor, he fared well in business. But, gradually, his business came to a saturation point, as the price of commodities increased.

Rony was in a full cheering mood, whenever there is a weekend. Because, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, his business is at its peak. But on weekdays, there is not so much. But still he is in profitable position than Tony.

What about Sony? Sony is the real business king in this regard. Every day, his bar is full with college students. On weekends, professionals and other people also come. What to tell about the restaurant, if it is always “House full”.The Media once asked Sony, what the secret of your success is. He told that, “I always targeted the youth, as it is the largest population of India. I gave 10% discount on any liquor or food for the college students, which attracted them more. And in this industry, there is enough scope to cut down your back-end operational cost, as the cooking is managed by us only”.“Ultimately, if you target the emotion and basic needs of your client, you are the business king” – confirmed the Media.
